THE PRECIPICE

The Precipice is a dark fairytale of forbidden sisterhood that asks the question"What will you do when they come for your wildness?"

Born out of Miranda’s bi-racial upbringing in the expansive countryside of Vermont,

The Precipice tells the story of Iris and Polly, two daughters born to the Goddess of Dreams, Lady Midnight. When placed on earth to inspire a broken society, it is revealed that, in their human form, Polly looks like the dark side of the moon and Iris, the light. Separated immediately, Iris and Polly come of age in very different circumstances and must navigate a narrow path to preserve their identities in an oppressive society determined to keep them stifled and apart.

The Precipice is thrilled to be the first ever artist-in-residence for Restore Forward, a new initiative led by Black Women's Blueprint, a black feminist non-profit organization, that sees The Precipice as part of their mission of holistic reconciliation and earth based healing.

In April, Black Women's Blueprint and Laura Benanti hosted an exclusive first look salon performance of The Precipice in support of the artist residency at Restore Forward.

In 2023, following a week long residency at Williamstown Theater Festival, Miranda and

dramaturg Anna Morton Stacey are focused on a new stage of rewrites while looking

to engage a producing partner supportive of the integrative storytelling, large

scale theatricality and ensemble based development the piece requires.

The Precipice team is gearing up for another showcase on July 12th at Xposed Gallery on The Highline, as part of Restore Forward's fundraising launch of their $5 million capital campaign for their upstate New York property. Led and co-hosted by event producer Abby Epstein, performances will include Tony Award Winners Laura Benanti, Santino Fontana, and more!
